Create Eligibility Policy

Objective

Eligibility Policies are the groups that categorize Eligibility Rules that have the same base criteria, such as employee age or length of employment.  That categorization is needed to make sure your benefits are later suggested to the correct eligible employees.
This page will guide you through the set up Benefit Eligibility Policies in order to categorize a specific group of Benefit Eligibility Rules.

If you are not yet familiar with the terminology in HR for Dynamics Benefit Management, we suggest you have a look at this page first.

Process

HR Manager
Determines the Benefit Eligibility requirement for the company
HR Manager
Creates Eligibility Policy/Policies

Click Through

  • Start in HR HUB
  • Switch to Settings in the lower left corner
  • Under Benefit Management, select Eligibility Policies
  • Click on + New
  • Enter a name for the Eligibility Policy
  • Enter a description for the Eligibility Policy
  • Select a date that the Eligibility Policy is to be valid from
  • Save
  • After saving the record, new and/or pre-existing Eligibility Rules can be added
    • Add new Eligibility Rules using the + New Eligibility Rule option in the Eligibility Rule area of the form
    • Add an existing Eligibility Rule using the Add Existing Eligibility Rule option
  • When all needed Eligibility Rules have been added, Save & Close

Hint

  • The Eligibility Policy Name should represent the Eligibility Rules contained within. This should be considered as a 'family' or 'grouping' name.
    • An example would be the Eligibility Policy 'Employee Age': The Eligibility Rules contained within this Eligibility Policy could be Employees over 18, Employees over 21, and/or Employees over 60
  • The Eligibility Policy Description should describe the general purpose of the Eligibility Policy that encompasses the purpose of the Eligibility Rules that the Eligibility Policy is being created for.

Result

The Eligibility Policy will now be created in order to categorize the eligibility rules contained within.
