How to make a customized Absence Type show in the Absence Calendar

Objective

After creating a custom absence type, the created absence type does not show in the absence calendar immediately. To make the absence type show you have to manually enable it for the absence calendar. This Tutorial shows you how that is done.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a custom absence type
  • You are system admin

Click Through

  • Start in make.powerapps.com
  • Click on Solutions
  • Select the solution you use for your customizations
  • Click on Add existing
  • Select Table
  • Search for the table Leave Request
  • Select the table Leave Request
  • Click on Next
  • Click on Select Objects under Leave Request
  • Click on Views
  • Search for Hubdrive Absence Calendar Item Description
  • Select Hubdrive Absence Calendar Item Description and click on Add
  • Click on Add
  • In the column to the left click on the arrow next to Tables
  • Then click on the arrow next to Leave Request
  • Select Views
  • Click on Hubdrive Absence Calendar Item Description
  • Click on Edit filters in the column on the right
  • In the field next to Absence Type Equals click the downward arrow all the way to the right of the field
  • Select your custom absence type
  • Then click on OK (Screenshot)
  • Now click on Save and publish in the top right corner

Result

In this example, the custom absence type "jury duty leave" is now showing in the absence calendar.
