This page describes how HR Managers and Supervisors can enter planned leave without a substitute on behalf of an employee. This helps the HR Manager and Supervisor with leave planning and approval.

- HR Managers start in HR HUB
- Supervisors start in HR HUB Manager Self-Services and in the lower left corner, switch from 'My Time & Leave' to Manager Self-Services
- Under Administration, click on Employees
- Open the file of the desired employee
- Go to the tab Leave & Absence
- Click on Create New Leave Request
- Add the dates From and Until
- Select if it's an All Day Event
- Save your leave request as a draft
- Check if the entered data is correct
- Click on Submit
- Approve the Leave via dropdown menu
- Click Submit
Hint
- If you want to enter half a day of leave, set the All Day Event button to No. You can then select if the Leave should be during the start of the day or during the second half of the day.
- The employee will be notified via email once their leave request has been accepted or denied.
- HR Managers can create leave for all employees in the company. Supervisors can do it for employees inside their department.
Result
Once the leave request has been accepted, and approved, it can be seen in the Absence Calendar.

Tips & Tricks
If you were not able to create the planned leave for an employee as described above, an HR Manager needs to check the following settings:
- The employee must have a valid Employment Term.
- Areas and Calendars must be configured in your System.
- There's a Primary Work Location filled in the employee's Digital Personnel File.
- The users involved in this process (employee, substitute, and supervisor) must have licenses assigned.
