Explanation: Ad-hoc absence vs. Planned absence
Objective
This page explains the distinction between Ad-hoc and Planned absence types.

                Comparison
| Planned Absence | Ad-hoc Absence |
| All absences the employee can plan beforehand. | All absences that occur suddenly, with no prior planning possible. |
| This includes vacation, maternity leave, parental leave, sabbaticals, overtime/excess hours compensation, public holidays, special leave, and unpaid leave. | This includes sick leave, sick child leave, work accidents, and unexcused absence. |
| Planned absences will credit the hours inside the Daily Summaries only after they were approved. | Ad-hoc absences will have the absent hours credited to the Daily Summaries as soon as they are created, even if the status of the record is still on Draft. |
After the desired type is selected, the system will automatically take care of how the absence is displayed in the Absence Calendar.
Details
Ad-hoc absence types require a further step, where the HR Manager has to indicate when the employee has returned to work. For ad-hoc absences because of sickness, if the duration is higher than a predefined amount, a sick certificate is also required in order to close the process.
