Microsoft Excel: Data import
Objective
The objective of this tutorial is to demonstrate how HR Managers can import data into the system using Excel.

Import the template
Click Through
- Start in HR HUB
- In the upper right corner, click on the gear icon
- Click on Advanced Settings
- Click on the dropdown arrow next to Settings
- Under System, click on Data Management
- Click on Templates for Data Import
- Select the desired template – this should be the area you want to import data for, e.g. Equipment
- Click on Download
- Open the file
- Click on Enable Editing
- Populate the Excel file with the data you want to upload
- When you're done, Save & Close the file
- Go to Advanced Settings again
- Click on the dropdown menu next to Settings
- Select Data Management
- Click on Imports
- Click on Import Data in the top bar
- Click on Browse
- Add the file with the data you want to upload
- Click on Next
- Do not allow duplicates
- Click on Submit
- Click on Finish
Hint
- After the import is completed, the system will inform you if all the records were successfully imported or not. To see the import status, click on imports and select the record that was imported.

- The duration of the import will depend on the amount of data that is being imported.
Recommendations
- We recommend to first import the data that has no dependencies with other entities, e.g. if you are importing an employee, without having created the departments already, and try to add departments in the employee Excel file, this will generate an error, because the system will try to connect the employee with the department, which does not exist yet. For this case, you can leave the field Department empty, this will cause no harm during the import.
