How to set up the LMS365 Integration

Objective

HR for Dynamics offers an Integration with the AI-powered learning platform LMS365. With this Integration, your company can benefit from productivity and success through continuous learning.

Step 1: Generate Microsoft SharePoint Site in your Tenant
  • Go to admin.microsoft.com 
  • Extend the Navigation on the left side 
  • Navigate to SharePoint under Admin Center
  • It opens the SharePoint Admin Center
  • Go to More Features and open Apps 
  • It automatically creates the needed Site 

 

Step 2: Install LMS365 app in your Tenant

  • Download & install LMS365 directly from AppSource (click on Get it now)
  • Follow the Installation Process
  • Choose the right region (nearest possible towards your Tenant) 
  • When installation is done, add details of your organization 

 

Step 3: Set up API Key

  • Go to LMS 365 Admin Center
  • Open global Settings 
  • Then click on API key management 
  • Click on +Generate API key
    • Name: api
    • API key is automatically generated 
    • Permissions / Type: Full Control 

 

Step 4: Import Flow Solution of LMS365

  • Start in the HR for Dynamics Customer Portal
  • Go to Downloads 
  • Choose: Addon: LMS365 Integration 
  • Download it 
  • Go to make.powerapps.com
  • Click on Solution 
  • Click on Import Solution 
  • Choose the Flow Solution from LMS365 you downloaded
  • Click Next 
  • You now see 2 Connection References: LMS35 Connection and Dataverse
  • First, choose the LMS365 Connection
  • Click on Sign in or click on the three dots, and choose +Add New Connection
  • Add now the Connection References, which you generated in Click Through part 3
    • The connection name is chosen by you - like "LMS Integration"
    • Username is the word API
    • Password is the automatically generated API key
  • The second Connection Reference is Dataverse
  • Click on the three dots, and choose +Add New Connection
  • Login with your Admin Account
  • Go back to Solutions
  • Click on managed
  • Click on LMS365 Integration Flows
  • Inside the Flow Solution click on Objectives
  • Click on Cloud Flows 
  • Check the Status of the Flows, they should be turned on automatically, if not activate them by clicking on each of them and choose on the top navigation bar Turn on

 

Step 5: Buy LMS365 licenses per User

 

Step 6: Create new Catalog in LMS365

Before you can use the Integration, you need to create a Course Catalog in LMS.

  • Go to the LMS365 Admin Center
  • Go to Course Catalog Management
  • Click on +Add course catalog 
  • Give it a Name
  • Now the Name of the Catalog is usable in HR for Dynamics as Training Category 

Hint

  • The LMS365 App and Dynamics 365 should be installed on the same tenant
  • The users on both systems are taken from Azure Active Directory and the login on both systems is done with the same user
  • The system user should have an Employee record in Hubdrive HR for Dynamics Solution and should be defined as a Learner in LMS365 App (User guides – Help Center (elearningforce.com))
